Our AI Philosophy
We encourage AI exploration and innovation while ensuring responsible use. You should prioritize vetted tools that meet our security and privacy standards, but we recognize you may need to experiment with other AI technologies.
When using non-approved tools, you assume full responsibility for ensuring no sensitive or restricted information is shared with these systems.
Before Using Any AI Tool
1. Assess Your Data
Ask yourself: 'Would I be comfortable if this information appeared in tomorrow's newspaper?' If not, don't input it into public AI systems.
2. Understand the Tool
Does this tool train on your data? Store your information? Share with third parties? Read the privacy policy before proceeding.
3. Choose Wisely
When possible, use approved tools. They've been vetted for security, privacy, and compliance with university standards.
